School Direct (salaried)
Trainees on the School Direct (salaried) route are employed by their placement school. They are not required to pay tuition fees and will gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at the end of the programme.
We also offer a salaried route leading to a PGCE with QTS. Trainees on this School Direct (salaried) programme are required to pay £1500 for the additional PGCE qualification, awarded by the University of Buckingham: A level 7 qualification which carries 60 credits towards a Masters.
As a salaried trainee and employee of the school, trainees may be given some class responsibility as the course progresses. This is great experience and preparation for their NQT year and is always carefully managed to ensure that a good balance between training and teaching is maintained.
